Yesterday, I checked the kids out of school early (in the cold, wet rain!) and drove two hours to attend the party of the season at my sister's house. I wondered if the two hour drive there and the two hour drive home from there would be worth it. But I just kept hearing Kit Kat's voice when she opened the invitation, saying, "I- can't- believe -THIS is
actually happening!" So I remained focused on the goal - taking that little girl to the par-tay! Was it worth it?? Absolutely. Just ask KitKat.
She talked Santa and Mrs. Claus's ear off. Santa looked genuinely entertained and interested in her stories. I could only see her from the back, but I could see the faces of Santa and Mrs. Claus. KitKat was talking with her hands, and occasionally the hands would go above her head. Curiosity got the best of me, so I asked Santa, "What is she talking to you about?" He said, "Well, she said that her mom touched the elf and it has been dead ever since. It just lays on the counter in the kitchen and doesn't move at all at night. Just stays right there night after night. "
How embarrassing.
So naturally I said, "Well I'll be sure to tell her mom."

The party was precious! "Belle" the reindeer was there! Did you know that there really are reindeer?? My other little sister didn't know. She thought reindeer were up there with unicorns and other make-believe animals. But here is proof that they really do exist!

Holley transformed the inside of her house into Santa's workshop. She removed all of the furniture from her large family area and set up 5 huge round tables. Each table had gingerbread cookies, colored icing, and all of the sprinkles and colored sugar a kid could ever want!!

But that's not all! You could hop aboard the Christmas Choo-Choo and ride around the neighborhood with the sound of the train's whistle sounding in the background.
