"Two Words"

Sunshine to me,"Two words, Momma."
Me: "Okay. What?"
Sunshine: "I can't find my blankey and my foot hurts and I can't itch it."
Me: "Well that's a lot more than two words. And why can't you scratch your foot?"
Sunshine: ""Cause it'll tickle."

:)

Smiles to all!

Break from the Blogging Break

I'm taking a break from my "Blogging Break" because we had to come home in the middle of the week to attend a funeral in Mobile.

But here's a peek at what we've been doing this week.
Landon, Lucy, and Mary Michael (who is expecting Baby #3) spent some time with us at the lake. We enjoyed making a campfire and eating S'mores!
Lucy is very silly and VERY entertaining!!

We never miss an opportunity to enjoy some seafood on the Coast. Mary Michael and I met our parents at Wintzell's while we were in Mobile.

We are headed back to the lake tomorrow (with Mimi!) to continue the Blogging Break and enjoy the rest of our Spring Break. But what a fun time we've had already (although the car ride home may have topped it all - I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard that I actually cried!).

Blogging Break

Taking a week off from blogging while I enjoy Spring Break with my family.

Have a great week, everybody!!!

Sweet little AA climbed into the car today with her head hung low. I could tell something was bothering her by the way she was walking. When I asked her what was wrong, she whispered, "Nothing." I said, "Baby, I know something is wrong. Please tell me." She started crying. It was a different kind of cry. It almost made me cry. She was so...sad. I said, "Sweetheart, please tell momma what's wrong." Then between tears she said that her best friend was making her feel "not smart and bad about myself." Then she told me what her BF did and said. It really wasn't that bad, but it still hurt AA's feelings. Basically her BF makes better grades than AA and then she laughs at AA's grade. She also told AA that she had no business being in the "jump off" because she is NOT a good jump roper! (How dare she!) We talked about it and I tried to role play with her, but she thought that was weird. (it was.) Then I suggested a few "lines" that she might want to say to BF. I said, "Tell her not to talk to you if she can't say anything nice." You know what she said?? "I don't want to hurt her feelings."

M came home a little later and I told him about her day. He said, "Let's go on a walk." They walked and talked for a while. She seemed to be in much better spirits when they returned. A little while later she said, "You know what dad said? He said that sometimes we all need to have a little "KitKat" in us!" She was grinning from ear to ear. One thing is for sure, I don't have to worry too much about KitKat worrying about hurting someone's feelings! She can hold her own! The funny thing is...AA knew exactly what he meant when he said, "We all need to have a little KitKat in us." In other words, we need to stand up for ourselves and not let others -especially our friends!- insult us. I can't tell you the number of times KitKat has come home and said, "I told (Ashley) that I'm not gonna be her friend anymore because (blah, blah, blah)." I have the exact opposite problem with KitKat. I'm always trying to teach her what being a good friend means.

Oh the drama. What is it going to be like when I have four teenagers under one roof - and three of them are females?!?

Praying for God to give me the right words to say to my children. Praying for their little hearts.

Inhale...

Exhale.
(I love that girl and I love that picture. And I really like my new camera.)

Boys will be boys!

I have three sisters, and I was 21 years old when my brothers were born. And I wasn't "allowed" to have a boyfriend when I was growing up (don't worry - that didn't stop me!). I was really, honestly, kind of sad when I found out that I was going to have a boy. I didn't think I'd know how to be a good "Mommy" to a strange boy. I wasn't sure I was equipped to teach a boy the things that a boy should know. No worries..... Boys were worn to be boys.

And then guess what?? Yeah, you guessed it:

I could eat him up! (And when no one is looking....mmmm... that boy LOVES me!)

I love watching him grow!

Thanks, hon!

Yesterday my husband treated me to a manicure, a pedicure, and a hot stone massage. But he doesn't know it yet.

I rarely (as in...that was probably only my third massage in my life) indulge in a massage, and that was my first - but definitely not my last - hot stone massage. OMGosh! It was wonderful!
The past few weeks - make that "months" - have been spent working on an event at the elementary school that officially "ended" today. So to celebrate the end of the hard work that went along with the event, M treated me to a little indulgence.

Thanks, honey...you're the best!

Hoop-De-Do!

The Hoop-De-Doo was by far one of favorite Disney World experiences ever! Just ask the kids!

If you have a trip planned to Disney in your near future, you just have to do the Hoop-de-do! I think our kids were the perfect ages to enjoy this inter-active live dinner show. Below is a picture of KitKat and Sunshine making some music the old-fashioned way!

(If you're wondering who the extra girl is in these pictures, that's our cousin, AG. We kidnapped her and took her to Disney with us. What a great addition!)

My favorite part of the show was watching the kids enjoy the show!

There was just the right amount of "8-year old bathroom humor" to keep everyone entertained.

I LOVED watching L'il Man get so tickled by this silly show.

If you look really carefully in the picture below, you'll notice that Sunshine has a purple ice cube in her drink. Their ice cubes glowed in the dark! How fun is that!?!?

It was a knee-slappin', jaw-droppin' good time! We laughed and sang and laughed some more. And did I mention that the food was delish?? Fried chicken, BBQ ribs, mashed potatoes, cornbread (that tasted like yellow cake!), the yummiest Greek salad in Orlando, and the biggest strawberry shortcake ever! And you could even enjoy a glass of wine in a Mason jar!

Allison.

First Name: Allison
Last Name : Wonderland The girls think I'm crazy because I suggested that her name is Alice IN Wonderland. They looked at each other and died laughing, " Mommy thinks her name is Alice IN Wonderland! "
"Mommy...it's Allison Wonderland!"

I never knew that. :)
