More Christmas...

I realize that Christmas has come and gone. The tree has been taken down, decorations returned to the attic, Christmas china carefully (oh, whatever, you know me better than that!) packed away. But I still have to document Christmas for the sake of preserving the memories on our blog. So here we go.

I think I'll limit this post to the classroom Christmas parties.

Here's AAA with her completed (and adorable!) gingerbread house:

And did I mention that I think she is adorable,as well?

Fellow classmates and friends (also adorable):

Moving on to KitKat's party:

Here she is with my Christmas party sidekick:

Kit Kat's class decorated Christmas trees rather than gingerbread houses. What a great idea for kindergarten!
Working diligently. By the way, this is her kind of project. If I were a betting man, I'd bet that she will be either an interior designer or a fashion designer when she grows up. She loves paying attention to detail! When I have a question about an outfit or placement of a piece of furniture, I call on her first. I kid you not! She's also the one who I can ask if my pants look too tight. And she'll tell me the truth (and then some. Like, "Your bottom is too big." ). But she is also the first to offer a compliment. But this post is about Christmas parties. So...moving on...

I think we look alike. What do you think?
And here's my Christmas party sidekick again (this time in L'il Man's classroom):

Will wouldn't let me take a picture of him so here are his friends and classmates:
(Doesn't that little girl have THE BEST dimple ever?!)

This is L'il Man's very best friend. They have been in the same class since kindergarten. L'il Man told me one day, "I think one reason C and I are such good friends is because he isn't an Auburn fan." Ha!

I thought this idea was cute and clever. His teacher decorated a bulletin board with each child's "gifts":

Here are Lil Man's (according to him!):

He's also good at making me smile, cuddling with his Momma, making me gutt-laugh, loving on his baby sister, aggravating his other two sisters, making his dad proud, eating everything I cook and telling me he loves it, completing his homework without me having to say a word, watching a Georgia football game and understanding every single thing that happens (never mind that I've been watching it for 39 years and still don't have a clue!). Oh yeah - but this is a post about Christmas parties. I keep forgetting it isn't a post about "Look how awesome my kids are!".
There! That wasn't too bad or too long.
And since it was over two ago and since it is currently past my bedtime, I'll actually keep it short and sweet.

Christmas parties at school are super fun and put you in a festive mood, but it is nothing compared to the memories you make at home during Christmas break. I don't want it to end!!

Happy New Year, y'all!

Santa, what were you thinking??

Dear Santa,

A kitty cat for KitKat?? What were you thinking?? Kit Kat is by far more finicky than any kitty cat I know. Of course she doesn't like the kitten. In fact, she's terrified and paralyzed by fear of the kitty cat that she named "Katie". Don't you think of these things before you give gifts like this?! Didn't you know she wouldn't like it? How could you not know! When I reminded her that she had said that she wanted a a kitten, she replied, "Well actually I don't." Of course not. Silly me. Silly YOU!

So poor Katie the Kitten is being returned to the pound today and will hopefully be adopted by a family who "actually wants" her.

AS for the puppy...good choice, Santa! Even though KitKat wears her knee-high boots 24/7 now (even with her night gown!), she truly adores "Hershel" the pup. She just doesn't like it when she nips at her toes. Thus, the boots are kept by her bed and she wears them all day and slips them off just before going to bed.

So Santa, just so you know, I blame you for this mess with the kitten. Even my close friends and family knew KitKat wouldn't like a kitten. When they were told that KK would be getting a kitten for Christmas, they all laughed and said, "Your kids don't even like cats!!" Santa....what were you thinking?? You should have known! Shame on you!

Sincerely,

KitKat's mom

Santa's Sweatshop

Um, I mean...Santa's Workshop!

" Flour Power":

The M&M counter:
The "Stirring Star":
Taking a break to pose for a picture:

We made 35 jars of "Cookies-in-a-Jar" that we delivered to teachers and neighbors.

We also made 25 Reindeer Moonpies, 44 gingerbread houses, and at least a hundred Christmas cards (that have yet to be mailed!). And we attended Christmas program after Christmas program after Christmas program. Poor little Sunshine woke up with a fever on the morning of her program, so she was unable to be the angel that I already know that she is.
More pics to come from everyone's classroom parties.
Hope you're all having a wonderful Christmas season!
