That's MY boy!

L'il Man's final soccer practice of the season was one for the record books! Too bad he isn't an Auburn fan - he would have appreciated it so much more. But his team was able to practice on the Auburn University soccer field!!

After practice, the team celebrated the end of a great season with a pizza party at the fields.

After pizza and cookie cake, Coach Greg handed out awards and trophies. AS you can tell in the picture below, I was a little late with my camera!

So I asked L'il Man and his coach to re-enact the moment. I told them to act excited.

So they did.

Silly guys!!

L'il Man received the award for "High Octane Striker"!

Thanks, Coach Greg, for a great season!!
This would be a really great time to tell you that we MADE L'il Man sign up for a spring sport! He did NOT want to play an organized sport, but he was becoming a little too interested in his PSP and DSi, so we told him he had to choose a sport. I wasn't convinced that we were doing the right thing by making him play a sport. But now I think we did the right thing! L'il Man had a complete blast this season and he was actually VERY good! So good, in fact, that he was chosen to play in a soccer tournament this weekend in LaGrange. (I'm sorry, but this blog is my bragging board!).
Thanks, L'il Man, for giving your best and being such a good sport !

Happy Birthday, M!!

Yesterday was M's 43rd Birthday!! I surprised him by checking the kids out of school early and heading to the lake for the afternoon. But the best surprise of all was his birthday gift! On Friday, my brother ,Rett, and his friend, Stone, came to the lake for AA's birthday party. Stone is living in his parent's place at the lake this summer, so he and Rett just came over for a short visit. Stone brought his Wake Skate and let M have a try. I had never heard of a Wake Skate before this weekend We've got Wake Boards, but not a Wake Skate. So I decided that I'd get him one for his birthday. However, they are HARD to find. I tried Academy, Dick's, and Kinnucan's...but no luck. I was running out of time. It was Monday and his birthday was Tuesday. I ended up calling Blu Creek Marina. Yay!! They had several. I picked one based on price and had the owner of the marina, who is in our Sunday School class, bring it to Auburn on his way home from work. His wife was so sweet to actually bring it to our house and leave it on the screened in porch. Mark was super excited and couldn't wait to try it out. I knew he'd be excited, so the kids were ready and waiting. We hit the door as soon as Mark came home from work. We pulled the kids around for a little while.

Then I took the wheel. I love driving the boat! I think my kids think I'm cool when I drive the boat. They don't say it, but surely they're thinking it, right?? I mean, look how cool I look! He he.

I'm just so cool I can't stand myself!

And in this picture, I'm acting like I don't think I'm cool. How cool is that?!

After dragging poor M though the water several times, I was finally able to get him up on the Wake Skate.

He's cool, too. Just look at that spray!

Go, baby!
Well Happy Birthday, M! Here's to a great 43rd year!!
(*** Ann Archer just read this post and said, "Mom, you're too old to write that stuff. It's embarrassing." I said, "AA, I'm just playing. Everyone who reads this will know I'm just kidding. " "I know", she replied, "But still!" Then she read the post about her birthday and came running to me in the kitchen, "Mom...you can't say "chillaxin'"!!" I guess they don't think I'm cool, after all!)

This is so KitKat...

This is KitKat's bedroom door. Obviously, she decorated it all by herself. But I love it, too. It's so her! So colorful and so over the top - just like her colorful personality!
And right in the center of it is the card she made me for Mother's Day.

Interpreted, it reads: "I care about my mom. She is my favorite mom. I love her. She takes care of me. She is pretty. She gives "X" and "O" to me at night. XOXOX. She loves me. She let us have a dog and cat for Christmas. XOXO."

I love that little girl!
